The fabulous, terrific table assembled from parts found at the dump!

That’s right – the dump.

Our town dump (the “transfer station” for those who are more politically correct) – has two great areas:

one is the metal pile where people get rid of old file cabinets, broken fans and tire rims,

and the other is the Take It or Leave It table, where you can – well, you know – take or leave whatever you want!

I am really quite partial to the metal pile.  I’ve found some really, really cool stuff there.

One of my cool finds was this wrought iron foldable table base:

It looks pretty folded flat — and looks even nicer opened up!

I thought about what I might do for a top, when the Gods of the Dump smiled down on me and put this little set of lovelies at the Take it or Leave it a week or so later:

I’m not sure how these used to go together, but it looks like the open base must have attached to legs at some point, and the solid top was screwed on.

It looks like it was once painted a pinky-white and maybe even a bluish color, too …

The size looked right and I thought if I got lucky it might just fit on that foldable base.

It fit perfectly!

I love the chippy detail along the edge…

I think it worked out just fine.

Total cost $0.  Now that’s a deal…
